Dead Stock Radar Demo

A walkthrough of the Dead Stock Radar Shopify app

This screencast shows the merchant flow end to end: the cash tied up in non-selling stock, the report of every dead and slowing variant sorted by value, tagging a product for clearance in one click, exporting the list, and the settings that tune what “dead” means. An animated walkthrough of the app’s real screens using demo-store data; on-screen captions narrate each step (the video has no audio).

What the video covers

0:00 The cash tied up in dead stock, counted for the whole store.

0:04 Why it’s needed — Shopify’s ABC analysis is plan-gated and won’t name the dying products. This works on every plan.

0:08 Install — catalog plus recent order history (line items only) to find each product’s last-sale date.

0:12 The report — every in-stock variant with no recent sale, sorted by the money it’s holding, down to “no sale on record.”

0:17 Tag for clearance — one click; build a discount collection from the tag.

0:22 Export CSV — the whole list for your buyer or accountant.

0:25 Settings — dead/slowing windows, hide-below-value, an off-by-default daily auto-tag, and a weekly digest.

0:30 Privacy — orders are read as unit counts only; nothing about a shopper is stored.

Testing notes

Install on a development store with some products and a little order history. The first scan runs automatically and the dashboard totals the cash tied up in dead stock. “Tag for clearance” adds a single tag you can build a collection from. The order scope reads line-item quantities and dates only — it stores no order records and no customer details.
