A walkthrough of the ShrinkGuard: Loss Ledger Shopify app
This screencast shows the merchant flow end to end: recording an inventory loss valued at cost, running a guided cycle count where shortfalls post as costed losses, the write-off report by reason with a QuickBooks/Xero-ready CSV, importing loss history from Stocky, and Slack/email spike alerts. An animated walkthrough of the app’s real screens using demo-store data; on-screen captions narrate each step (the video has no audio).
What the video covers
0:00 Loss ledger — losses by reason (shrinkage, theft, damage, expiry, samples), each valued at cost, with month totals.
0:04 Install — products and inventory. No customer data.
0:08 Record a loss — product, reason, quantity; valued at your cost of goods and dropped into the ledger.
0:12 Cycle count — count by location; every shortfall posts automatically as a costed loss.
0:17 Reports — write-off value by reason with a QuickBooks/Xero-ready CSV.

Testing notes
Install on a development store with a few products and item costs set. Record a loss, or run a cycle count and post the shortfalls — both appear in the ledger valued at cost. Reports export an accounting-ready CSV. Recording a loss adjusts Shopify inventory; the app reads and writes products and inventory only and stores no customer data.
